Wadi Natuf & Shuqba Caves
Opening Hours:
Open to the public. Note: It is not recommended to visit the valley and cave after 5:00 PM, The area becomes very dark and can have stray dogs roaming.

Description:
The Shuqba Caves are located 28km northwest of Jerusalem, in the western Jerusalem Hills. The caves were discovered in 1924 by Father Alexis Mallon, but the first excavator was Dorothy Garrod in 1928. The valley near the caves is called “Wadi Al Natuf” and refers to the Natufian Culture (13000-8500 BC). Archaeologists discovered many tools shaped like bent crescents that date back to that period.
