Located just outside Jerusalem, on the eastern slopes of the Mount of Olives, is Bethphage or “house of the green figs.” Bethphage is believed to be the village from which Jesus made His way on donkey into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. Today a small Franciscan Church, built in 1883, is the starting point of the annual Palm Sunday procession.
