Description:
St. Joseph's Church is a local tradition states that after Jesus’ birth the Holy Family settled for some time in Bethlehem. St. Joseph’s Church or “the House of St. Joseph,” donated by Mrs. E. Audebert in 1890 and solemnly consecrated by Fr. James Ghezzi on 20 March 1893, is believed to be built on the spot where the Holy Family stayed. At the foot of the Chapel’s apse can be seen a piece of rock and behind the altar a block, probably belonging to the primitive altar.
The feast of St. Joseph is celebrated on March 9th.
