Theater Day Productions
Theater Day Productions (TDP) also known as Ayyam Al Masrah, is a non-profit organization working in the field of youth theater and drama education in the Palestinian Territories since 1995.
At present, there are two regional branches: one in the Gaza Strip and one in Hebron. TDP works exclusively with children and young people using theater and drama as tools of expression and relief. Over the years, with its training program, quality of work, and annual outreach to tens of thousands of school children with plays and drama workshops, there is a basic and strong acceptance of the program as an important educational addition to a school curriculum.
In order to create a professional youth theater in Palestine, TDP trains adults in acting and drama-teaching in a 3-year curriculum. The individuals who complete this program should graduate with strong wills and the know-how to run small programs for children and young people. From among its best graduates, TDP hires individuals for the continuation and sustainability of the TDP regional program.
The projects of TDP are designed to give Palestinian youth an opportunity to find and express their individual voice, their sense of self, and their creative life.
The philosophy of TDP regarding drama and theater work is that by nature, theater and drama require team-work, commitment, spontaneity, creativity, and openness to new ideas. With these qualities, drama and theater work are strong cultural tools that help develop some of the basic conditions for the peaceful development of Palestine.
