The Gaza Arts and Crafts Village is located in Gaza. It is a Center that helps to maintain and preserve Palestinian heritage by supporting artists and their art through various cultural projects and exhibitions. To further preserve Palestinian Heritage, the Cultural Center itself was built by a Palestinian architect, who used traditional architectural elements and materials.
The Arts and Crafts Village is approximately 1000 square meters, and includes an exhibition hall, that offers local and international artists a place to show their art, and a cultural hall that is used for activities and lectures. Within the village complex, there are also four houses of handmade crafts, each is different and reflects the Palestinian artistic side.
The first is a Rug House, where authentic rugs, cushion covers, and bedspreads are made using both sheep and goat wool. The second house is an Embroidery and Traditional Fabric Weaving House, where beautiful pillows, dresses, bags, and sheets are embroidered. The third is a Copper House, where copper antiques are exhibited. And finally, a Wood and Ceramics House.
