Al Mathaf stands on a quiet location next to the beach of the northern Gaza Strip, it was built as a private investment to help preserve the historical and cultural identity of Gaza and offer a new standard hospitality and cultural services. As its name suggests “Al-Mathaf” (Arabic for “The Museum”) it is the home of Gaza’s finest archaeological museum, which is filled with beautiful artifacts that celebrate Gaza’s rich cultural heritage. The Museum shows Rare Gazan Antiquities & Artifacts Collection of Mr. Jawdat Khoudary, a Palestinian antiquities collector and an owner of the place. The collection includes Ancient Tools, Columns, Motifs, Coins, Glass and Pottery. Al-Mathaf aims to preserve the regions rich history, provide a venue for modern cultural dialogue, and carry a message for this generation to build a brighter future.
